Hi welcome to my blog, I've not much to report over the last few months as work has been a bit manic, I havn't had any time for fishing just the odd night here and there, I did manage a nice 41lber a few weeks ago though which was a very welcome visitor into my net. Pretty much all of my fishing for the past year has been concentrated on welly, a lake im sure you've all heard about that contains a massive head of very big fish, some of which im lucky enough to have caught this year. The fish just keep getting bigger and bigger with more and more new 40s. I'm sure in the not so distant future shes gonna throw out a 50lb common, they certainly love sticky baits in there, since I started with Sticky Baits I have had great success on the bait, taking 4 different 40s in 15 nights fishing!! I have been particularly impressed with the latest bait on test from Sticky, the very first time I used it, it produced a 40 when nothing was happning for any one else.

My best memory from this year was early on in the season, I arrived at the lake friday after work as usual, loaded the kit on the barrow and headed off round the lake for a mooch about. I came across a mate of mine, Shaun the leg, who informed me of a group of fish that had been showing all day, in animal farm bay. I decided it was a good a place as any to start, so I set up in a swim called boat house point, this is a double swim with shaun fishing out the side. I set up in the front fishing in the bay where the fish had all been showing. I started getting liners straight away and saw a few gooduns show. Evening time was soon upon us and i felt really confident for a take. It was round about 11pm, we were watching the water in front of shauns swim when we saw a massive fish show on the end of the bar in front of a swim called goose s**t. At this point it just went crazy, fish after fish kept showing, 3 or 4 at the same time, I was a bit reluctant to move at first as i had fish in front of me that were active, by 1am i could take no more so i grabbed the rods, net, bait and a few essentials. I was on my way to goose s**t, I tied 3 chods and cast them between 40 and 100 yrds range to where the fish had been showing, a few kilos of bloodworm boilies followed around the area. An hour had passed and the right hand rod ripped off, good move I thought as I played the fish. Little did i know what the next few hours were to produce. After landing the fish and realising it was the big lin a target fish of mine, I was buzzing, espesially at an all time high of 42lb8oz. It couldn't of been more than half an hour later and I landed a 36 common quickly followed by a 34 lb common and a mid 20. Disaster then struck as I lost a very big fish which i'd been playing for a good 15 minutes. Straight away I was in again with a gorgeous 27lb sutton stockie. It was now about 8 am and I had run out of bait, my mates scott and ben had been and done the photos of the lin, at this point I decided to go back home and get every scrap of bait in my freezer and get back rapid. I arrived back about 9:30am and got the rods back out, 15 minutes later i found my self in the water playing a very big fish, after a lengthy battle I managed to net my new pb common of 47lb. I couldn't believe what was happning, this was turning out to be a session of a life time by anyones standards. We had just put the fish back and the middle rod ratteld off, this time it was another 40 in the shape of a 40lb 8oz mirror which we named shoulders. All in the space of 9 hours I had 14 bites, by now the wind had picked up and blown massive rafts of floating weed over the areas id been fishing, I ended up having to fish a totally different area but still managed 2 more 30s before it was time for home.

I've had over 40 x 30s and 7x40s on Sticky Baits in 16 months, the results speak for themselves. Well done to all the lads at Sticky for keeping us supplied with quality bait. Previous to Welly I have fished waters such as Silvermere golf course / Swanvalley /Twynersh speci lake just to name a few. My plan for the rest of this season is to try and catch the turtle from Welly, my attentions will then turn to Cemex to have ago on Frimley and the Carpark lake. Once work calms down after xmas i shall be back out doing my usual friday to sunday session, I will endeavour to keep you all informed of whats been happening and whats been out on the bait. Thanks for reading and tight lines to all.
Merry Xmas, Jamie x
